Hello, I'm Stacey!

As a public school band teacher, I loved seeing my 4th–6th graders thrive with their instruments, but time was a challenge. With only 15–20 minute band periods a couple of times a week, plus limited after-school options in our small town, practice time was scarce. Busy families struggled to prioritize band, risking students quitting despite their passion. I created Joyful Noise to fill the gaps in music education through an online learning platform with supplementary lessons, practice tips, and a safe, faith-based community. Using tech kids love, it offers deeper learning and a monitored space for connection, empowering parents to support their child’s band journey stress-free.

My Story

I fell in love with band as soon as I started on the flute in 4th grade. I had many great band teachers, but I was most inspired by my high school director, Mr. Temple, who encouraged college and private lessons—creating a pathway to my music therapy career. For 20 years, I helped kids with autism, Down syndrome, and more through music. I started teaching a few private lessons for my friends' kids, and soon I had students playing guitar, piano, and drums. Leading a rock band of 4th–5th graders at a music festival sparked my own private studio, which created an opportunity to teach band in the schools. I am now a full-time Beginning Band Director with a Master’s in Elementary Education. Joyful Noise is the next stop on my journey and brings my love for music and connection to every child!
